Asset Lifecycle Management

Asset lifecycle management begins from the design of your asset and continues until it has been decommissioned.

CORE

The sooner you know what you have installed, the sooner you can direct your attention to the areas that need it most.

The process of managing the lifecycle of your asset must effectively address four distinct areas:

OBSOLESCENCE – onshore data collation of components and the current availability and support levels.

VULNERABILITY – offshore assessment of the system component status, spares and technician knowledge.

IMPACT – onshore assessment of safety, commercial and environmental impact of component failures.

RISK – overall assessment of each system. Used to highlight areas that need addressing.

Obsolescence
For many Operators, offshore obsolescence studies are a regular occurrence but the output is often a large and static report. CORE can enhance the process of lifecycle management by using CALMS, a new product that has been specifically designed to modernise lifecycle management.

Most obsolescence issues are experienced with electronic systems, in particular those based on custom low volume products and systems which often make use of commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) components.

Rapid advances in technology have shortened the lifespan of such components, rendering many obsolete. Most offshore installations now rely on increasingly more complex COTS microelectronics and software for their functionality and maintainability. Consequently, obsolescence issues are affecting almost every electronics system that is maintained over 5 years or more.
